It’s the Classic season and RCC payed its own tribute to the one day classic ride. Steep hills and cobbled sections all heaped together to produce a great route and a real challenging ride. The cobbled climb of Thwaits Brow blew a few gaskets and the Tour De France climb from Oxenhope to Hebden Bridge tested the tiring quads. The beast that is the Buttress brought some of us to a walk as the 30%+ cobbled ascent called for leach like grip from the tyres. The headwind turned to a side wind as we climbed past Widdop res and our return back to Skipton.
A tough 58 miles. Big well done to those who joined me. Here is a link to the route if you ever fancy having a go yourself.
