RCC is pleased to introduce you to James “Jimmy” Lund.
Jimmy is our second sponsored rider and here at RCC we are very excited to be able to help and assist Jimmy in his sport of Triathlon. Jimmy is already an accomplished swimmer and runner. Riders Cycle Centre is looking forward to helping Jimmy excel in the cycling discipline with some equipment and coaching. We have already provided Jimmy with a Cycle Ops turbo trainer and tyres, a training plan for the next few months and dates in the diary to meet up for some training sessions and weekend rides.
Jimmy swim trains 6 times a week and his training often means a 5am start. He runs 3 times a week and will soon be fitting in some cycle training sessions. A very committed lad. His ambition is to represent Team GB and to make the Olympic Games.
Simon Pickard from Jedi Cycle Sport has generously provided Jimmy with a Winspace frame and fork to replace a heavy Cycle Cross bike.
We have fitted Continental GP4000 tyres to some Shimano wheels and are looking forward to getting the new bike built soon here at the RCC workshop.
Jimmy has kindly sent me some info on his sporting exploits and news articles.
KEIGHLEY’S James Lund is one of two City of Bradford Swimming Club members who have been selected for the Yorkshire and Humberside Triathlon Academy for 2014-2015.
Lund, 15, hase been picked following exceptional results in 200-metre swims and 1500-metre runs, and a subsequent interview.

As part of the programme, the swimmers will take part in various day-long and weekend training sessions.
They will also have the opportunity to learn from and be influenced by international triathletes through sharing facilities with them and witnessing them training.

Even a small contribution mixed with the benefits of what a small bike shop can offer can get Jimmy kitted out with some good quality components and parts. We very much look forward in promoting Jimmy and helping him achieve his ambitions. Who knows you could be helping a future GB or Olympic athlete.
